Two Feet of Fresh—2020 DC Shuksan Boot Highlights

With the brand new Shuksan, DC debuts a high-end boot with a decidedly freestyle ethos. Lightweight, supportive, and comfortable straight out of the box, the Shuksan pairs dedicated tech with retro-inspired styling. DC’s skateboarding heritage is evident in the Dual Boa, which allows for fine-tuned adjustments and features an exclusive Boa lacing design based on DC’s iconic 90’s ghillie shoe lacing. Strategically placed Carbitex, a flexible carbon fiber, maximizes support while remaining lightweight—meaning response is paramount and built to last all season. Our tester agreed. “The Shuksan has good torsional flex,” said Eddie. “It’s really comfortable for jibbing.”

DC imbued the Shuksan with the Double Black Liner, its highest-end boot liner which features the Relief Toe Box and a high rebound EVA that cushions your feet during landings. Completing the full package of the Shuksan is a Vibram Outsole which provides season-long durability lap-after-lap and reliable traction when fast-planting or just skating to the lift. It’s arguable that to achieve a true skate-like feel, it helps if your history is rooted in skateboarding itself, and to this end, DC definitely has a boot up on the competition.
